Not really much about the lineup but some interesting stuff about the players we signed.

Obgonna and Payet were definitely his signings and he has been following them for a while. Some debate about the former was had on here I think.

Anyway good times going forward.

Re: Team for BIRKIRKARA FC
Expecting similar to others.

Reckon we might start something like:

---_--------------Adrian

OBrien Tomkins Reid Hendrie

--------Noble Poyet Obiang

Amalfitano------Maiga------Jarvis

Subs:
Randolph, Page, Burke, Nolan, Lee, Cullen, Oxford

Any ideas why Samuelson isn't registered for the Europa?

It will be interesting to see what formation Slaven sets us out in. Our available players look weak in attack if anything, so crafting opportunities I expect to be our biggest problem.

Wouldnt surprise me to leave the stadium with a 2 nil win, but commenting that Miccoli looked the classiest player on the park on the night.

Same as Ern. Strongest team we can and play the kids in the second leg.

Too many people act like we'll win these games 20-0. That never, ever happens.

It reminds me of old small town newspapers where if anyone left town even for a few days or returned from such a trip, they would document in the paper.

Comes from a lack of anything else interesting.

I have just noticed that one of the former managers of Birkirkara is Alan SUNDERLAND

I contributor to maybe the greatest West Ham related trivia question ever.

I'd start Noble as captain. Need some experience in the middle of the pitch.

Re: Team for BIRKIRKARA FC
Usually deployed as a creative second striker,[34] Miccoli is well known for his all-round attacking abilities, specifically his technique,[35] pace, and his powerful and accurate finishing, both inside and outside the area.[36] A prolific goalscorer, Miccoli is also a regular assist provider.[34] Due to his pace, agility,[37] and his technical ability,[38] Miccoli is also capable of playing as an attacking midfielder on occasion, a position which allows him to undertake individual dribbling runs during counterattacks.[39] He has also been deployed as a winger, where he has demonstrated his ability to beat players in one on one situations due to his ball skills and control,[40] and curl shots on goal. Miccoli is also an accurate set piece and penalty kick taker; he frequently uses the "Panenka" gesture when taking penalties.

Re: Team for BIRKIRKARA FC
I'm loving the LATEST NEWS from the Birkirkara official website:

The contingent, made up of the Club's President, committee members, technical staff, players and supporters will be meeting at the Malta International Airport at 21:30. The direct flight to Stansted Airport in London is scheduled for 23:15 and the flight is expected to take about three hours.

Then a few hours later:

The contingent of Birkirkara FC, led by the Club's Treasurer, Mr. Ivan Mizzi, and made up of the President, Dr Adrian Delia, Club Officials, technical staff, players and supporters arrived safe and sound in London, England.

Following meeting at the Malta International Airport at 21:00, the contingent had a smooth flight that took around three hours before having a ten-minute coach ride to their hotel. The weather is quite cold.

Is this written by one of their mums?!

To be fair Fabrizio Miccoli is a new signing but one (36 year old) man a team does not etc...

Also he has been shaped that way for most of his career.

They finished behind Valetta who got knocked out by the Welsh pub side.

Re: Team for BIRKIRKARA FC
I guess the thinking from Bilic will be to smash this Malta mob at home so not many senior players have to travel next week.
